This morning, I opened my email and downloaded this message…
I read these words and thought of you today:
“I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge – even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you – so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 1:4-8 ESV
I spoke with another MOPS Mom last night at small group and your name came up. She was telling me how much you meant to her and how much you’ve listened to her, prayed with and for her, and just have been there for her. It really struck me how much you do and how much of yourself you give to others. You are a beautiful person, inside and out! Thank you for giving so much to others who need it so desperately! In Christ’s Love, Paula
To begin my day with this email was humbling as well as encouraging. Numerous times during the day, I opened this email to read ~~ which helped me continued on in my day with hope and assurance of how God is at work in and through my life. Titus 2:3-5 calls the “older women” to encourage the younger women to love their husband and children, to be kind and pure; this is my passion to mentor younger women to hold on to their marriages, enjoy mothering their children and to have faith. Believe it or not, we all are “older women” to some woman.
At the Hearts at Home Regional Conferences this fall (Great Lake Conference in Grand Rapids Michigan and North Central Conference in Rochester, Minnesota), I will be leading workshops on The Joys of being a Mentor. To learn more about this workshop, please visit page 5 at http://www.hearts-at-home.org/ncwbs.pdf . Registration is now open for these Hearts at Home Fall Conferences http://www.hearts-at-home.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=7&Itemid=211.
My daughters are all involved in younger women’s lives through mentoring, teaching and leading, yet they also need “older women” in their lives. My blog has recently been hit with women looking for information on being a MOPS Mentor. Relationships with others are the only real treasures that have eternal value. Will you be an “older woman” in the life of younger woman?
Pray about who the Lord is calling you to be involved in this fall. Maybe the Lord will be using you in the life in the life of one of my daughters, a MOPS group or a younger woman. As you give of yourself, maybe someday you will receive an email like the one I received today which will encourage you!
Thank you to Paula – when I got your email, I felt special and blessed….
