For Moms of Graduating Seniors — hold tight and let go

Last week, I wrote an email to a cherished friend whose first born is about to graduation from high school.  I have found myself sharing these types of words often in the last couple of years (many of the MOPS Moms I mentored now have graduation seniors)…. You have no idea how many times I have thought of you over the past school year as you have posted photos of your senior.  There have been so many times that…

Filling the emptiness we all have

As a Biblical Life Coach, I am blessed to talk to many women. We talk about their many life roles such as wife, mother, daughter, employee, student, grandmother, etc. We work together to define their core values. We discover their gifts, strengths and passions.  Together we vision cast for their future, asking God to give guidance and hope. The one thing I, as a Life Coach, cannot do is to fill the emptiness found in each of us.  I can…

A Rebecca Mail Give Away

Earlier this year, I was blessed to walk alongside Rebecca as she worked through a career change.  Together we looked at her personality gifts, core values and God’s calling on her life.  I asked her the big life coaching question, “If there were no obstacles in your life, what would you want your life to look like a year from now.” Rebecca didn’t hesitate to answer.  She responded immediately that she would love to have a subscription service where she…

Pruning: taking away the good

A photo of the pruned tree from our visit to the orchard. July included a trip to my favorite apple orchard to pick up my buckets of fresh cherries to freeze. My grandchildren were with me, so instead of the normal quick in and out, we spent some time meandering around the orchard. The apples trees were overflowing with apples doing their work to become ripe.  But I was amazed to see countless apples laying on the ground, underneath…

Adjusting to the Change…

Yes, it has been several weeks since my last post and  much  has been happening since then.  Typing with one hand, especially when it is not the hand God created me to use, is a challenge.  Once I am done each day with my email correspondence, Blessings Unlimited Business, ministry commitments and family relationships — time to write on my blog has not happened.  I find that everything I do is such an effort with only one hand, God’s design…

A Family Heirloom Awaiting the Next Generation

26 years ago, a couple named Bill and Sandy (that is my husband and I) were awaiting our first-born child.  We had no idea if we were having a boy or a girl, but we were excited and scared (at least I was).  We had just moved into a new house and had a yellow gingham nursery ready.  In the garage, Bill worked on a cradle for the new baby and he did so without the many tools that he has today….

Why is it?

Recently I had the priveledge of spending the day with a woman that I have not always been friends with.  We went to the same college together, yet ran in different circles.  We have know each other through different Christian organizations such as the Church, Christian School, etc…, but have never taken the time to really get to know each other.  But through our brokenesses, we recently and cautiously reached out to each other and connected. The day we spent…

A Box of Mothering Memories

Several weeks ago, Laryssa was able to spend a week with us and it was fun to have her “home.”  While she was here, we had a  baby shower for her, did some shopping (for the baby of course) and even celebrated her birthday on her actual birthday! At the shower, Alycia, Laryssa and me – missing is Audrianna who was at college. While she was here, I remembered that I had packed away for each of the girls a…

Taking my own Advice….

My Bible open on my kitchen island (plus Blessings Unlimited One Another Blocks – I like the way this looks) At our monthly MOPS Steering Meeting, I always share a short devotion.  It is very causal and interactive with the leadership.  Last week, I shared that I was in a slump concerning my devotional time with the Lord.  For years, God has been drawing me to spend time with Him each morning and it is such a special time to read and study God’s word, journal and…

The Seasons of a Woman's Life

I know that my blog has been a little quiet lately and I am okay with that.  Sometimes, God has me in the quiet places so He can speak truth into my life.   Recently the Lord woke me up so I could listen to His message for me. I continue to work with the DaySpring’s Blessings Unlimited Products – asking God to reveal to me how to teach His truths through these beautiful, inspiring products.  Recently, I woke up in the…
