Isn't Technology Amazing

The last 2 days I have been able to have written conversations with Audrianna in Latvia via our Gmail Chat Accounts.  We both can immediately respond to each others words and thoughts — from Eastern Europe to Western Pennsylvania.  It is just amazing how connected we can still be even though she is thousands of miles apart.  We share the news of our days, our thoughts, feelings and prayers just as we do when we are together.  It does…

Purity Rings Presented in Latvia

As most of you know, my youngest daughter, Audrianna is currently in Latvia.  Last year on the trip, she had the opportunity to share with some of the orphan teenage girls the message of staying sexually pure until marriage.  After one orphanage visit, she even wrote a letter to the girls to continue to share her heart’s message. This year, as she prepared to return – she and I prayed that God would provide purity rings for her to present to…

I will not be afraid – A Message to Mops & Me

Yesterday, we had a great MOPS meeting — lots of Moms, good food (thanks to our hospitality coordinators, Kim & Laura) and everyone look home a homemade apple crisp (thanks to our great craft coordinator — Brenda).  My devotions were titled Do Not be Afraid and as usual, God had a strong message for me as well as the Moms. ~ MOPS Devotion ~ Do Not Be Afraid      One of the most common commands of the…

Tuesday 10 — Latvia

On Thursday, our youngest daughter, Audrianna is leaving for a 10 day mission’s trip to Latvia.  Last year, she and I went together with Shoes for Orphan Souls with Buckner International, but this year the Lord called only her to go again.  She will be ministering to orphan teen age girls (the entire team will be ministering to orphans of all ages).  Her ministry will include fitting them with new shoes, sharing the gospel, as well as continuing to share a message of purity…

Recently, I was asked what type of a job title I wanted as I do marketing for a Christian Company.  That request really took me back, as I have forgotten how important titles are.  I know that throughout my career when I have taken other jobs – it has always been exciting to receive new business cards with my “title” on them.  I have enjoyed different jobs such as National Director, Public Relations Director, Assistant Director, Owner and Co-owner  of…

Places I've been ~ Places to go

Tonight I learned that I have only visited 4% of the world (check out my travel map). ~ there are so many places to see and learn about.   Several years ago, I bought my husband an atlas and now we use it almost every week.  How big the world is; there are so many people to take God’s message of salvation, hope and care to.  This week, I have learned of 2 trips heading back to Latvia – one this summer…

HOME is where My HEART is

It is such a comforting feeling to see your husband at the airport with flowers (which is very European and very appreciated), and to know that he is glad to see you even when you have been up for almost 24 hours and look a mess.   How fun it was as well, that he brought 2 of Audrianna’s friends, Nic and Audrey to welcome her home.  We talked all the way home (2 hours).  There is nothing like coming home after a long trip –…

Last Day in Latvia

This will be short message as our time is coming to an end very soon.  This morning we visited a baby orphanage in Riga – they have around 70 children there from 2 months old to age 6.  We first played with the healthy children and then spent time with the handicapped children.  There was a little boy, 2 years old, named Goldis, who was laying in a crib on his back. (his grandparents brought him in two months ago and now…

Children in Crisis

Today the team split up and my group went to visit a crisis children’s home – all of the children here have been in abusive situations (physical or sexual).  This is a non government facility and is very well run (which was validated by Candy Stark as she works for Children Protective Services in Texas).  We were told not to touch any of the children as they would not respond well – how heart breaking that was.  You could see pain and…
