Memories of the Old Hymn Board ….

Growing up,  my family attended a little white county church called Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church in the middle of nowhere.  We were there every Sunday Morning and Evening, for wonderful potluck dinners, for VBS in the summer and Christmas programs in the winter.  It was here where I wore my Sunday best (complete with hat, gloves and purse which I obviously needed in this metropolis), that I played Red Rover at VBS,  and it was here that I first felt the love…

In 2015, may I be reminded that I am Blessed by the Grace of God.

I have been reading with great interest in people’s word/goal/resolutions for the New Year.  In the past, I have been right there with you, picking a scripture for the year and focusing and planning on that given theme (as a matter of fact – my posts on scripture for a new year have been some of my most read blog posts). To be honest with you, I have found myself struggling with a lack of clarity for what I want my year…

Mary and Martha brought up to date in Kansas City

Mary and Martha’s National Conference happened a week ago and I am still whirling in the memories of my time with my team, home office staff and dear friends in this company.  Our theme was Embrace Your Place,  a perfect reminder of serving where God has called us   My description of  a Mary & Martha Conference is that it is a Christian Women’s Conference, a Business Conference and  retreat with  friends.  I was blessed to have 21 members (and 4 leaders) of my team…

Just Between the Next Thing….

The past 5 years have brought so much change into my life … sweet blessings such as my 3 daughters getting married which added 3 fine son-in-laws in our family of girls, and the addition of 2 wondrously, sweet grandchildren (with the hope of more coming),  and the assurance of being known among a community of friends.  Of course, there have been numerous struggles of adjusting to my daughters’ families living away, leaving a ministry that was my passion for…

My Experience at MOPS Conference Reminds Me of…..

This past weekend, I was at the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) International Convention in Kansas City.  I was with one of my  Team Leaders hosting the Mary & Martha booth.  It was such a good time for several reasons…. I love working alongside with my Mary & Martha team and developing Leaders.  Stephanie Kaufman has been a Consultant for 18 months and is now a Team Leader.  She loves the Lord, her husband, family and serves as a labor & delivery…

The Girls – Mary & Martha – Living in the &

I must admit that I have always longed for a sister of my own, someone who would know the unique ways that God created me and who had experienced many of my life stages with me.    After raising 3 daughters, who have revealed to me the intimate relationship of sisters, this relationship of having a sister looks even more desirable.  I love to be around my girls and observe their interaction with each other.  And since Blessings Unlimited changed…

God Changes Names…. Blessings Unlimited is now Mary & Martha.

When God calls me to invest my time, my gifts, my energies to an organization – I am all in!  I will be totally passionate about it and it will be my life for the season that I am called to serve.  The past 4+ years I have been very committed to Blessings Unlimited and “Sharing the Blessings” as I liked to call it.  Serving through Blessings combined so many different things I love – ministry, hanging out with women,…
