Serving God at our Homey Home

There is a special family at our church, Henry and Susan Hart and their children, who have a passion for the mission work in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.  For the last several years, their family members have served this ministry through working there, sharing the mission with others and praying.  Last year, they were able to take most of their family members on the trip (they have 11 in their family, counting Henry and Susan) and once again this year they are…

We were blessed

Shane & Kara Gauthier & family Our family was very blessed this weekend as we hosted the Gauthier Family – the Gauthier’s are missionaries to Kenya with Fellowship International Mission.  Bill, Alycia and Laryssa have worked with Shane each time they have traveled to Kenya, so it was a honor to be able to welcome them in our home. They have 4 delightful children which made our home much busier than it has been in a long time.  I found…

Clean Water – Something We Take for Granted

Each time Bill, Laryssa (she went in 2005)  or Alycia have gone to Africa – they have always mentioned that the lack of clean water is appalling.  Of course, the American team drink bottled water while they are there and the children “hanging around” the team are always anxious to get the plastic bottles when they are empty.  Then the children or women will fill these bottles with the water that they find in ponds, streams or wherever.  When I see photos…

Another Kenya Photo I had to share…

This weekend our church did a mission report on the Kenya trip and several other trips that were recently taken.  Lots of great photos were shared, and when I saw this one I just could not  resist sharing this photo …  I love this photo of my daughter Alycia – she is so beautiful and happy loving this Kenyan little boy.  How thankful I am for a daughter who loves the Lord and serves Him wholeheartedly wherever she is.

Recognizable Kenya Memories

Although, I did not go Kenya – these photos tell the recognizable memories my husband, Bill and oldest daughter Alycia had on their recent Kenya Mission’s trip.  Alycia, providing health care for a Kenya child.  She claims that she is ready to return already!   At the end of the week,  Bill finishes the church by securing the cross.  He is ready to return as well.

They are home!!

They are safely home from Kenya –  YEAH!! Last evening our home was full again as Bill and Alycia (along with our entire church team) arrived home safely.  Although, I am not a worrier, I am always glad when I see them coming down the escalator at the airport.  Today, it was pure joy spending time with Bill and Alycia, hearing their stories, seeing their photos and reconnecting.  The one thing I heard over and over again is that all the teams worked really hard,…

Off to Africa

Right now, as I write this – my husband and oldest daughter are flying across the Atlantic to London and then on to Nairobi.  The last couple of days have been  a whirl wind getting things ready for their departure.  This is the 5th time I have seen my husband off to Kenya – and although I miss him already I couldn’t be happier to see him go where God is calling him.  I know that the Lord will use…

Tuesday 10 — 10 Things to know about Kenya

My husband and oldest daughter are getting ready to leave for Kenya on Saturday for a missions trip with our church.  Bill will be heading up the construction team as they build a new church and Alycia will be working with the medical team seeing patients each day.  The ministry they serve with in Kenya is Special Ministries .  They build Hope Centers for the Kenyans in tribal areas.  Hope Centers consist of a church, school, and clinic providing the…

Isn't Technology Amazing

The last 2 days I have been able to have written conversations with Audrianna in Latvia via our Gmail Chat Accounts.  We both can immediately respond to each others words and thoughts — from Eastern Europe to Western Pennsylvania.  It is just amazing how connected we can still be even though she is thousands of miles apart.  We share the news of our days, our thoughts, feelings and prayers just as we do when we are together.  It does…

Purity Rings Presented in Latvia

As most of you know, my youngest daughter, Audrianna is currently in Latvia.  Last year on the trip, she had the opportunity to share with some of the orphan teenage girls the message of staying sexually pure until marriage.  After one orphanage visit, she even wrote a letter to the girls to continue to share her heart’s message. This year, as she prepared to return – she and I prayed that God would provide purity rings for her to present to…
