Legacy – what we will leave behind

This morning, I told my husband again that I missed my parents.  I miss their presence in my life, the ease of our conversations, the interest they had in me and the fact that they knew me first. Their legacy in my life goes far beyond money, it is rooted on relationships.  Their relationship with each other, with me, my family and most importantly their relationship with our Heavenly Father. I have been pondering the concept of legacy since our…

God values the waiting times in our lives

What are you waiting for right now? Most of us are waiting for something to happen or for someone to do something.  Waiting is hard, especially the longer it goes on. God truly values the waiting times in our lives.  Scripture is full of people who had to wait on God… Ruth had to wait even after she had left her county, gleaned in the field, laid at Boaz’s feet and asked Him to take care of her (and her…

A Rebecca Mail Give Away

Earlier this year, I was blessed to walk alongside Rebecca as she worked through a career change.  Together we looked at her personality gifts, core values and God’s calling on her life.  I asked her the big life coaching question, “If there were no obstacles in your life, what would you want your life to look like a year from now.” Rebecca didn’t hesitate to answer.  She responded immediately that she would love to have a subscription service where she…

Time Eases All Things ~ 35 years of marriage

On top of our bedroom dresser sit numerous frames with photos of our beloved family.  There is a large framed image from a Mary Engelbreit calendar that was framed by our middle daughter as a gift for a prior anniversary.  It is an image of an older couple swinging on a porch swing as they look at old photos.  The Sophocles’ quote “Time eases all things” is printed on the image. My husband and I celebrated 35 years of marriage on September…

Joseph's success

Defining Success – Joseph’s story

We love successful people – we love their passion, their stories of how they never gave up and pushed through many obstacles to achieve their success.  Typically, when we see successful people it is when they have made it; they are wearing the medal or the crown or the title!  We wish that we were as successful as them. A devotion I did a few years back, has been swirling around in my mind again lately.  It is about Joseph,…

Pouring In to Pour Out

This seems to be a statement that I say often as I coach – “You can’t continue to pour out, if you have nothing pouring into you.” Are you feeling empty, like all you do is to pour out for others?  Then Life Coaching is a great tool to pour into yourself so you have more to give others. Your first coaching session is free – so pour into yourself for a change and have more to pour into others….

Good Gifts

I love to give and receive gifts. Since becoming a Grammie, I love shopping the clearance racks to find deals on gifts for my grandchildren.  My 3 year old granddaughter knows that I love to shower her (and her brother and cousins) with grammie gifts.   A recent conversation between my granddaughter and her mama went like this… My Daughter:Your 3 year old granddaughter already has you figured out… She was pretending to talk on her phone, then hung it…

God is more interested in growing my faith than my comfort

I want accomplishment, recognition, prosperity, influence, prominence, security, ease, happiness, growth, riches, comfort, pleasure, relaxation… basically anything that will make my life easy, comfortable and happy. God wants to teach me to trust Him, to reflect Him, to bring Him glory – He wants me to move beyond my goals, thoughts and selfishness to grow my faith in HIM. This stretches me, moves me outside of myself and often puts me in uncomfortable places. It seems like a constant tug of…

Around our table

Our first table was from my parent’s basement and around it sat 4 folding chairs.  It was just the two of us, learning this relationship called marriage and learning to eat my cooking (my first attempt at gravy turned into a ball).  In our first week of marriage, we had already been dealt a life change diagnose of type 1 diabetes (insulin, needles, meal plans and many tears).  Sitting across from each other, around that basement table a tradition began…

Reintroducing ~ Recognize & Remember Blog

Sometimes it takes a year to respond to God’s calling.  Last year, when WordPress sent me an email with how many had visited this site, I knew I was to revive it, but I “dragged my heels” in doing the work needed to make it happen. I had too much to do with my business, family, new grandbabies and life to revive my blog. But I heard the call again in the Spring and I met with a blog designer,…
